Attorney Helps Clients Obtain Family Visas in Fairfield County and Westchester County

Immigrating to the United States can be a long and difficult journey. Along the way, family members are often separated for an extended length of time. Though the road can be rocky at times, there are many rewards at the end of the journey. To help you successfully navigate the family-based immigration process, it is important to have a strong advocate by your side.

At Gonzalez Law Office, LLC, our mission is to help families reunite as quickly as possible while they reach for their piece of the American Dream. For over 15 years, Attorney Hector Gonzalez has represented clients for all types of family-based immigration matters in Fairfield County, CT and Westchester County, NY. Attorney Gonzalez understands the struggles family members face when they are trying to obtain a green card and ultimately U.S. citizenship. He works closely with clients, putting his extensive experience to work to provide the skilled and personalized representation they deserve.

We represent clients for all types of family visas. These are divided into two main categories:

  • Immediate Relative (IR) Visas: These are visas issued based on a close relationship between the applicant and a U.S. citizen. Examples include the spouse of a U.S. citizen, the unmarried children (under age 21) of a U.S. citizen, an orphan adopted abroad (or to be adopted) by a U.S. citizen, and the parent of a U.S. citizen who is at least 21 years of age or older. There is no limit to the number of Immediate Relative visas issued each year.
  • Family Preference (F) Visas: These visas are issued to more distant relatives of U.S. citizens and some relatives of lawful permanent residents (LPRs). Examples include unmarried children (of any age) of a U.S. citizen; spouses, minor children, and unmarried children of LPRs; married children of U.S. citizens (and their spouses and minor children); and siblings (and their spouses and minor children) of U.S. citizens. A limited number of Family Preference visas are issued each year.

Fiancé Visas

Though not technically considered family-based visas, K1 and K2 visas are closely related. K1 visas are issued to the fiancé or fiancée of a U.S. citizen, and K2 visas are issued to unmarried children (under age 21) of the fiancé or fiancée of a U.S. citizen.
